Partnering With Local Entities and Individuals to Provide Permanent Homes to the Homeless
Sustainable Housing Programs in Chattanooga
Imagine a world where everyone has a place to call home. That's what we're working toward at the Hudson Homes Foundation. No one in our city should go without food or shelter. Our vision is to create tiny homes for those in need, providing a stepping stone toward a brighter, more secure future.
The Homelessness Crisis
Homelessness reached a record high in 2023, according to data the federal government released on Friday, December 15, 2023. About 653,100 people experienced homelessness on a single night in 2023. Despite efforts to reduce homelessness, the numbers continue to show a drastic increase since reporting began in 2007. In Chattanooga, (Hamilton County) Tennessee, there were 350 people without homes in 2020, and the number has grown by 80% in two short years.
The leading cause of homelessness is the lack of affordable housing. HHF intends to be an active part of the solution to provide permanent homes as an option for those who are living on the streets, in shelters, and in tents. HHF will partner with government officials, businesses, agencies, and individuals to build alternative housing and provide it to those in need.
HHF will impact our community by reducing the number of people who are homeless.
Our Solutions
At Hudson Homes Foundation, we are deeply committed to actively participating in the solution. We intend to provide permanent housing as a viable option for those currently living on the streets, in shelters, or in tents. We work closely with local government officials, businesses, agencies, and individuals to create alternative housing solutions through our various housing projects and ensure they reach those in need.
